🎓 Selection and Merit Criteria

The final admission is not based solely on the entrance test. SIU employs a multi-stage selection process to assess both aptitude and personality.

  1. SLAT Entrance: Shortlisting is based on the scaled score of the entrance test.

  2. Personal Interaction (PI): A 30-mark component consisting of a remote-proctored interview (6–8 minutes).

  3. Writing Ability Test (WAT): Depending on the specific institute’s requirements for that cycle, a written component may be included in the final merit calculation.

📝 Personal Interaction (PI) Strategy

The PI is a critical differentiator. Candidates must upload a concise CV (8–10 lines) prior to the interview.

CV Structure Recommendation

  • Header: Full Name, SLAT ID, and contact details.

  • Career Goal: A single, focused line (e.g., "Aiming to specialize in International Trade Law through the B.A. LL.B. program at SLS Pune").

  • Academics: Grade 10 and 12 percentages/CGPA and Board names.

  • Achievements: Quantifiable extracurriculars (e.g., "National-level debate finalist" or "School Captain managing 500+ students").

  • Institutional Fit: One sentence connecting your profile to the specific research centers or clinics at the chosen SLS campus.

Interview Response Framework: The STAR Method

When asked behavioral questions, structure your responses as follows:

  • S (Situation): Set the context.

  • T (Task): Define the challenge or goal.

  • A (Action): Detail the specific steps you took.

  • R (Result): Highlight the quantifiable or qualitative outcome.
